Big Bite Tipped To Bounce Back

Trainer Tom George believes The Big Bite will bounce back after he has had a rest from racing.

He was a disappointing seven lengths behind Nicky Henderson’s Mister Fisher at Kempton over Christmas when conceding 8lbs but George has put that down to the going on the day.

The Big Bite won his first two starts over fences and George says he will come good again after a decent rest. He is likely to run at Cheltenham, although he has yet to decide in which particular race.

“The only reason we ran him at Kempton was we were looking for slightly better ground and the other option was the Tolworth, where the ground wouldn’t have suited him either,” George told Sky.

“We’ve wanted to give him a break and that is what he is having at the moment, so the timing was right but it just didn’t fall his way. “I’d say he will be heading to Cheltenham in the spring, but for what I don’t know yet.

I think you could put a line through that run at Kempton and if he were to run against them again, there is no reason he couldn’t beat them.”
