Sheffield United are edging closer to completing a deal for Preston North End forward Callum Robinson.
The newly-promoted Blades are eager to bolster their attacking options and have identified Robinson as player who can try and help the South Yorkshire outfit retain their Premier League status.
Reports have suggested an £8m fee has been agreed between the two clubs and now Preston have confirmed Robinson is in talks regarding a move to Bramall Lane this summer.
A statement released by North End said: “Preston North End can confirm they have accepted a bid from a Premier League club for forward Callum Robinson.
“The player has been given permission to leave the team’s Irish training camp in order to discuss personal terms and undertake a medical ahead of a proposed move.
“There will be no further comment from the club at this time.”
