Boniface Hails Super Eagles Performance Despite Draw Vs Saudi Arabia

Victor Boniface has praised the performance of the Super Eagles after their 2-2 draw against Saudi Arabia on Friday.

Boniface made his first start for the Super Eagles in the game against Roberto Mancini’s team.

The draw halted Saudi’s run of six consecutive defeats.

“It was a good game unfortunately we didn’t get the result we hoped for but as we know we are using it to prepare ourselves for the tournament ahead of us so we keep working,” Boniface said in a video posted on NFF TV.

“We can improve in a lot of things that’s why we are here. We had short period of time to come up with this but at the long run we can achieve and be better.“

Boniface thought he had opened his goals account for the Super Eagles but the equaliser against Saudi Arabia was credited as an own goal.

He added:”I feel proud of myself being part of the Super Eagles. I have been working really hard for this moment, I have been playing really good, to be honest I’m happy with my performance.

“It’s been really good playing with good players in the club and also in the national team, it really boost my confidence. You want to do more and try to help the team so I feel confident about it.”

Boniface will hope to eventually get his first goal for the Super Eagles when they face Mozambique in another friendly game on Monday.
