Brighton Away-Day Opening For Potter

New Brighton boss Graham Potter will begin his spell in charge with a trip to Watford after the 2019-20 Premier League fixtures were revealed. The 44-year-old replaced Chris Hughton in the Seagulls dugout, despite Brighton managing to maintain their top-flight status by finishing 17th in the standings.

Player recruitment is ongoing ahead of pre-season but managers and players always have one eye on the fixture list. The fixture computer has thrown up the identical opening match as last season for the south-coast club, with Hughton overseeing a 2-0 loss at Vicarage Road in August 2018 to get proceedings under way.

Brighton picked up a vital point in the reverse fixture, as the sides played out a 0-0 draw at the Amex Stadium on February 2, and Potter will hope that he manages to start his tenure with a positive result.

Other notable clashes to look out for include a trip to the Etihad Stadium to take on treble-winning Manchester City on August 31, while Brighton will visit Old Trafford to face Manchester United on November 9. The M23 derby is always hotly contested and December 14 will see Potter’s men arrive at Selhurst Park, while Roy Hodson’s Eagles make the trip south on February 29, 2020.
