Buhari Endorses Sani-Lulu For August 29 Kogi Governorship Primary Election

Former NFF boss Abdullahi Sani-Lulu has received the blessing of President Mohammad Buhari for the All Progressives Congress, APC, governorship primary election billed for August 29, Completesports.com reports.

After picking his nomination and expression of interest form from the party’s national secretariat Abuja, at a cost of N22.5m Thursday in Abuja, Sani-Lulu, led a delegation of Buhari Support Group, (BSG), on a courtesy visit to the president at the Presidential Villa, Abuja.

Completesports.com understands the Nigerian President was pleased with the group in ensuring the realisation of the Next Level project as highlighted by the APC victory in the last elections.

It was on that occasion that Buhari endorsed Lulu’s candidature for the ruling party’s primary election in Kogi State.

Buhari further assured all aspirants for the governorship of a level playing ground during the primary election and the governorship poll.

Lulu is confident that, given a level playing ground, he would floor incumbent governor, Yahaya Bello, in the party primary.

“What counts is not your wealth but how you use your position to transform the lives of people,” Lulu said.

“If you are transparent, you pay workers salaries promptly and you implement policies and projects that will benefit the people.

“This is very important. I believe I stand a chance to emerge as winner from the primary given a level playing ground”.

About seven aspirants have expressed displeasure over the indirect primary code for the poll as adopted by the party’s national leadership for the election.

But Lulu insists he’s open to any decision or method deemed good by the party in the selection process.

“I’m loyal to APC. I’m a loyal party man so I’m sure the party will do the right thing.

“I’m here to serve my people, my state, the most relevant and tested politicians in Kogi have endorsed my candidature.

“One important thing is to unite everybody in Kogi. If elected, I will work with elders, youth and women who have all blessed and endorsed me.

“Where I worked before, there were no resources but I made a big impact.

“I will do my best if given the opportunity,” Lulu promised.
