Bundesliga: Awoniyi Helps Mainz Secure Away Win Vs Frankfurt; Collins In Action As Paderborn Hold RB Leipzig 

Nigerian striker Taiwo Awoniyi was in action for Mainz 05 who ended their winless run with a 2-0 away win against Eintracht Frankfurt in Saturday’s Bundesliga game, Completesports.com reports.

Awoniyi who saw action for 90 minutes made his 11th league appearance for Mainz this season.

Going into Saturday’s game Mainz had failed to win their last five games with their last victory coming in February, in a 2-0 win against Paderborn.

Moussa Niakhate opened scoring for Mainz on 43rd minute before Pierre Kunde doubled the lead on 77 minutes.

The win means Mainz are now 15th on 31 points, one place above the relegation play-off spot.

Super Eagles left-back Jamilu Collins played for 90 minutes for struggling Paderborn who held 10-man RB Leipzig to a 1-1 draw.

It was Collins’ 26th Bundesliga appearance with Paderborn this campaign.

Paderborn have now gone 11 consecutive games without a win; securing five draws and six defeats.

Patrik Schick put Leipzig 1-0 ahead in the 27th minute before Christian Strohdiek snatched a late equaliser on 90 minutes.

Leipzig were reduced to 10 men after Dayot Upamecano was shown a second yellow card.

Paderborn remain rooted bottom in 18th position on 20 points.

And in other results Bayern Munich came from a goal down to beat Bayer Leverkusen 4-2 while Fortuna Dusseldorf were held to a 2-2 draw at home by Hoffenheim.

Bayern take their points to 70 and are 10 points ahead of second placed Borussia Dortmund.
