An eyesore of a performance from Enyimba.
You watch Nigerian teams on the continent these days and you ask yourself, if this is what the best in the country can offer, what then do the rest have….?!
Yet they keep insisting HB players must be a part of the national team setup as if they bring more to the table than what we see them play on the continent.
To rub salt on that injury, for the upteenth time, a coach of a Nigerian team is barred from the touch line for not having the basic qualifications and licenses to do so.
We are currently where England was when UEFA introduced the formal training approach for coaches in the early 90s. The English in their arrogance felt they didn’t need it. It never made sense to them that being an exfootballer wouldn’t be enough to coach by the next millennium. Today the top 10 (but 1) clubs in their league are all coached by foreigners, mostly from countries like Spain, Germany and France who all keyed into UEFA’s vision at the time immediately.
