    Disappointing!

  • What the hell is wrong with these Nigerian club sides and CAF club competitions? The same thing with CHAN. This certainly doesn’t suit the profile and image of Nigeria.

When it comes to competition on the continent, the hone based lads suddenly categories Nigeria to tier-3, alongside countries like Lesotho, Eritrea and South Sudan. DISGRACEFUL!!! Where has it been heard or read that the SE were trounced 3 – 0 in a competitive match? But with the home based, it’s the routine embarrassment.

NFF should please stop allowing Nigerian club sides in CAF competition, except they agree not to fly the Nigerian flag or say they represent it. The stain is getting too much. At least, there were once Enyimba, 3SC, Iwuanyanwu Nationale, BCC Lions – and to some extent Julius Berger pulling weights in Africa up until around 2005. What suddenly happened!!!!

The Nigeria of today is not the same of those days. When you speak lolipop or what is their name will start throwing tantrums that someone hates Nigeria. The mentality of homebased Nigerians of today is messed up and they’ll never accept it but rather attack you for speaking out. Left and right it’s beating when it comes to anything home based.

@ Chima, don’t try to be a smart ass – Calling you out for belittling Ladan Bosso with your sarcastic comments is not tantrums as you called it. Please learn to show some respect to those men and women who served or currently serving Nigeria in one capacity or the other.

I am not belittling Ladan Bosso but for his past achievements he doesn’t merit that post. Besides his education is not sound enough for that post. Nigeria as a country needs sound and competent people to head its affairs. Listen to his last commentary on Naija sports bias YouTube channel and you’ll understand where I am coming from. Nigeria is a big country people like Segun Odegbami with sound education in sports are left jobless when they should be directing affairs in sports. Only for people like Bosso and Eguavoen to be heading positions they do not qualify for or merit. I say it as it is and if I see where I’m wrong I also admit it. I wish Bosso does well at the U20 tournament but it doesn’t mean he should be president of Nigeria coaches. This is what is hurting the country today for example a man of Bhuari’s calibre that doesn’t have sound education leading affairs of Africa’s largest economy and they expect him to be successful. When even People like Rishi Sunak are finding it hard to find success with the UK. Things has to change for Nigeria and Nigerians to Evolve as a nation and it’s starts by having a sound leadership.

Some people are just quick to want to condemn the league and making comparism. I bet many didn’t even watch the match, but are quick to jump to conclusion. I watched the match and what killed Rivers united was concentration. They played really well. Kindly be mindful with you conclusions sometimes

You watched the match and the fact that dey lost by 3 goals and duru missed a penalty makes you right abi? Rivers started the game well but never using their senses well that is why they have no end product, and a team that is 3 goals up doesn’t have to kill themselves anymore but rather keep the goals scored secured and not gamble to expose themselves by searching for more goals. So it’s natural that rivers will seem like they have possession after going down by 3goals. But the truth is that they have lost and lost heavily, oh boy let us be honest in our views and not entertain this kind of loosing mentality. Now who’s leading the group and who’s bottom? In football the only thing that people will remember after years of record is the 3points and goals you scored.

      • @Chima, I tire o. They played well, but lost? So many points for playing well? Absolute zero. There’s a pattern to winning and Nigerian club sides don’t have it. They should stop going for continental cups to disgrace us year after year. They’re the reason South Africa stopped respecting us in football.

        1 loss = Blip
        2 losses = Coincidence
3.Regular heavy losses = Fact you don’t belong

When was the last time any Nigerian club side got to the champion league semis or played world club cup? Even 2nd-tier CAF competition they’re struggling. The Champions League is no-go area. They crash out before it even gets underway.

Ghanaian, Sudanese, and Malian clubs even fare better. When it comes to home based, if it’s not the academies, forget it.

Yes i know you watched the highlights already, that doesn’t mean the team didn’t give there best. You all keep dissing the league, i would suggest you go apply for the position and put things right. It’s just one game and you already condemning the the team and the league

Thumbs up Brotherman Kel. Homebase players must sit up. They are far worse compared with other African club teams. let’s call a spade a spade.

  • These are the same Home Based Players than ex International and some Mediocre fans will be clamouring for in SE to come and take the Position of the likes of Ademola Lookman and Samuel chukwueze and you think these individuals really know what is best for Nigeria football?.

    Lol!!!! Definitely NOT!

    • “same Home Based Players *that* ex Internationals”

We have many good home based players but the problem is recruiting the good ones, let me draw you back to Enyimba glorious era they always recruited the best players in the land but now Nigeria is all about corruption, the rich are now playing football that’s the problem of Nigeria football

  • JimmyBall 1 year ago

You guys hammering homebased players that have one of the worst welfare packages on the continent in league football is unfair…

Have ww forgotten so soon how our almighty professionals are 4goals against Portugal? A team Morocco beat, a team that could not beat Ghana that we like to measure height with.

Make una relax… When former Zaire, now Congo DR went to represent Africa in 1974 world cup, we were also playing football then o… Nobody the look Uche face for football, na who ready go win match.

The feeling that our national team and clubs should always beat others is arrogant. Let’s begin to take note that even Brazil now is no longer feared by any serious nation.
