Campillo Confident Of First Tour Win

Jorge Campillo feels his first European Tour victory is just around the corner as he prepares to tee up at this week’s Trophee Hassan II.

The Spaniard has started the season in spectacular form, finishing in a tie for second at both the Oman Open and Commercial Bank Qatar Masters, while his most recent outing saw him claim third at the Hero Indian Open.

Campillo also came close to breaking his European Tour duck on several occasions last season and he is confident, if he continues playing in the same manner, a maiden victory will soon come his way. “It’s taken me a while but I think I’m playing good,” Campillo was quoted as saying by the European Tour website.

“Hopefully I’ll get lucky enough one week to win. “I’m trying to win every week and I’ve been close way too many times but I think the win, hopefully, is around the corner.” The 32-year-old will be playing alongside Andy Sullivan and Joost Luiten during his opening two rounds of this week’s event in Morocco and he has revealed that he is a fan of the Royal Golf Dar Es Salam course.

“It’s a great golf course,” he added. “The last venue was great and this one is great as well. “It’s nice to come here and play these nice golf courses.”
