Dyche Hails Post-Christmas Run

Burnley boss Sean Dyche feels hard work over Christmas was key to the side turning their fortunes around this season.

A run of 28 points from 16 games has seen the Clarets confirm their Premier League status for another season, after at one stage looking like they could be in for a nervy end to the campaign.

Dyche has hailed the efforts of his players and has highlighted where he felt their fortunes turned around at the end of last year. “Around Christmas time we had to look at it and remind ourselves what got us down the years to where we are,” he told the club website. “That is doing ‘the wrong side of the game’ and doing it well.

Since Christmas, I think we’ve outrun every opposition we’ve played. “You have to find a way of being competitive.

You have to find a way of taking on the challenge and I think we’ve done that, year on year. “We stay focused on the team and I think that’s been a really powerful thing for us, because we believe in the players and they’ve paid us back with that belief from Christmas onwards.”
