Carragher Singles Out Saka, Tierney For Praise Despite Arsenal’s Woes

Carragher Singles Out Saka, Tierney For Praise Despite Arsenal’s Woes

Bukayo Saka and Kieran Tierney were identified as the only two bright spots by Jamie Carragher following Arsenal 2-1 defeat to Everton last weekend.

The Gunners failed to impress once again at the Goodison Park, registering only two shots on target.

Mikel Arteta’s side now sit in 15th position on the table and in need of motivation ahead of their Carabao Cup quarter-final clash against Manchester City.

Saka and Tierney played along the left side of the pitch together and were effective in knowing when to overlap and play the ball forward.

Carragher believes Saka may be Arsenal’s best player already, as he explained that whenever the teenager gets the ball he creates opportunities.

“Well, these two have been really good down this side,” said Carragher.

“I keep mentioning Tierney and Saka involved again. They are the bright spots for Arsenal today.

“Up until now, it’s probably been an underwhelming performance from Arsenal.

“But they have a real connection together. Always looking to find each other. He [Saka] has been Arsenal’s best player.

“Every time he gets the ball it looks as though something is going to happen.

“To think at 19, he looks Arsenal’s best player.”

  • Im glad Alex iwobi is no longer at Arsenal, because if he was he would be singled out as one of the reasons they are playing so badly this period.
