Cashman Pleased With Pre-Season Preparation

Brighton Under-23s striker Danny Cashman says pre-season is going well as he tries to impress the club’s coaching staff this summer. The U23s setup are currently out in Portugal for their pre-season preparations, while the first team are in Austria. Simon Rusk’s troops are hoping to fine tune their preparations in the warmer conditions as they look to secure another successful season in Premier League 2.

Cashman, 18, made three appearances for the 23s last season and he is hoping to kick on and impress Rusk and then Graham Potter. He told the club’s official website: “It’s been good so far, it’s nice to kick the balls again and start preparing for our first pre-season game on Friday. “The days will get longer and longer throughout the week, and they’re going to be hard because it’s hot out here.

“I’m focused on enjoying my football this season and hopefully I can get some minutes under my belt for the under-23s. “The boys were unbelievable last season, and it’s just about keeping to that standard of not quitting and fighting until the last whistle in every game. “The Manchester City game last season was a prime example.

We defended so well until the final whistle, and I was lucky enough to get in the right position to score the winning goal. “I play this game for nights like that and hopefully we can have some more good results this season as well.”
