Chelsea are unwilling to bulge over the transfer fee for Nigeria defender Kenneth Omeruo amid strong interest from Spanish club Leganes, Completesports.com reports.
Omeruo, 25, linked up with Chelsea from Belgian side, Standard Liege in January 2012, but is yet to feature in an official game for the Blues.
He spent last season on loan at Leganes where he performed excellently well for Manuel Pellegrino’s men.
The versatile defender made 28 league appearances for Leganes who are now keen on making the move permanent.
Chelsea according to reports in the British media, have demanded €7m (£6.2m) for Omeruo but Leganes are only willing to pay €4m (£3.5m) .
Other Spanish clubs are reported to have expressed interest in the defender, but are also not keen on meeting Chelsea’s valuation.
Omeruo is currently on duty with Nigeria at the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.
He was voted man of the match in Nigeria’s second Group B game against Guinea on Wednesday which the Super Eagles won 1-0. He scored the winning goal in the 73rd minute of the encounter.
