Cole Palmer is an injury doubt for Sunday’s Premier League match between Chelsea and Arsenal.
Palmer took a knock from a challenge by Lisandro Martinez in the 1-1 draw with Manchester United last weekend.
“Cole Palmer was not able to train yesterday, he was not fit,” Enzo Maresca said in his pre-match press conference on Wednesday ahead of Thursday’s UEFA Conference League match against Armenian club Noah, for which Palmer is ineligible to play having not been included in Chelsea’s Conference League squad.
“We hope to have him back against Arsenal. We will assess him.”
Maresca ruled Jadon Sancho out of Thursday’s match but has revealed the winger is not far away from a return.
“Jadon is the only one out tomorrow, with illness,” Maresca added.
“He is recovering from that, but he also had a knock in a session. Tomorrow he is out but we will see if he can be available for Sunday’s game, otherwise it will be after the international break for him.”
Meanwhile, Arsenal would hope to bounce back from their winless run as they face Inter at the San Siro.
The Gunners go into the game on the back of a 1-0 defeat to Newcastle United at St. James’ Park.
