Chelsea Youngster Visits Family In Nigeria

Lesley Ugochukwu has visited his family in Nigeria, reports Completesports.com.

The Chelsea midfielder shared pictures of his visit to the West African nation on the social media.

Ugochukwu, who was born in France to Nigerian parents, holds dual nationality.

His nephew, Onyekachi Apam, was a member of the Flying Eagles side that came second at the 2005 FIFA U-20 World Cup in the Netherlands.

Apam, who was a centre-back also featured for the Super Eagles in his active days.

Ugochukwu, is still eligible to play for the Super Eagles despite representing France at the youth level.

The 19-year-old joined Chelsea from Ligue 1 club, Stade Rennes last summer.

  • His nephew Onyekachi Apam ?… as in how? correct the typo joor. He is Onyekachi’s nephew not the other way.

Onyekachi Apam is Lesley’s UNCLE and not his nephew.

Lesley’s mom is Apam’s sister who moved to France to cook Nigerian meals for Apam when he was at Nice. That’s how Lesley ended up being born in France.

BTW, even though this story might’ve lifted from some other outlet, a Nigerian media outlet should NOT be referring to Nigeria as “the West African nation”.
