Cherries Set Sights On Wales Star

Bournemouth have been tipped to make a summer move for Swansea’s Wales international winger Daniel James. The Cherries have a good record of signing players from the Championship, having landed David Brooks and Chris Mepham from Sheffield United and Brentford respectively last summer, and have now seemingly set their sights on James.

James came close to joining Leeds United in January as the two clubs were understood to have agreed a fee in the region of £8.5million but Swansea backed out of the deal late on. The Swans may be open to offers this summer but Bournemouth will have to pay a far higher fee than Leeds’ reported January offer, as the 21-year-old has impressed since and grabbed his first international goal in Wales’ 1-0 win over Slovakia over the recent international break.

The Cherries will face competition for James should they decide to firm up their interest with a bid as Leeds remain keen, Southampton have been linked and it has even been claimed Premier League champions Manchester City are keeping an eye on his progress.
