Chinedu Obasi Completes Move To Austrian Club Altach

Nigeria forward Chinedu Obasi has joined Austrian Bundesliga club SC Rheindorf Altach, reports Completesports.com.

Obasi linked up with Altach as a free agent after leaving Swedish club AIK Solna last year.

AIK Solna did not extend Obasi’s contract despite the forward scoring five times and recording two assists in 18 league appearances.

“Last week I was already able to see for myself how professional and meticulous the work at SCR Altach is. So I’m all the more pleased that it has now worked out and that we can get started together. I want to make my contribution to that we offer the fans a successful and attractive football,” Obasi told newsroom.scra.at after signing his contract.

The club’s sporting director Christian Mockel is delighted with the acquisition of the verstaile forward.

“We are delighted to be able to welcome such a renowned player as Chinedu Obasi to Altach. Chinedu has already proven his qualities at the highest level. We are therefore convinced that he will be one with his scoring danger and experience will play an important role in our team,” Mockel told the club’s official website.

The 34-year-old has previously played for clubs in Norway, Germany, England, China and Sweden.
