18 players arrived Super Eagles camp in Asaba Delta State on Sunday ahead of their preparation for the 2019 Africa Cup of Nations tournament billed for Egypt, Completesports.com reports.

Skipper of the side of the team, John Mikel Obi who had been on on a self imposed 11-month absence from the Super Eagles’ duties was among the early arrivals in camp along with Leon Balogun, Ola Aina and Semi Ajayi.

Other players who also breezed into camp Sunday afternoon included Moses Simon, Chidozie Awaziem and Jamilu Collins.

The likes of Daniel Akpeyi, Ikechukwu Ezenwa, Samuel Chukwueze, Ola Aina, Henry Onyekuru and Paul Onuachu joined up their colleagues later in the evening.

The duo of Kelechi Iheanacho and goalkeeper Francis Uzoho were the last players to arrive camp on Sunday.

The quintet of Ahmed Musa, Shehu Abdullahi, William Troost-Ekong, Kenneth Omeruo and Wilfred Ndidi are expected to join their teammates in camp on Monday.

The three-time African champions will train twice on Monday. The first session will start by 10am, while the second will begin at 4 . 45pm.

The Super Eagles will face Zimbabwe at the Stephen Keshi Stadium on June 8 before departing Nigeria the next day for Ismaila, Egypt for their final camp ahead of the tournament.

The Eagles’ last pre-tournament friendly is against Senegal, billed for the Ismailia Stadium on June 16.

The AFCON 2019 is billed to take place in Egypt from the 21st of June to the 20th of July.

Nigeria will face Burundi, Madagascar and Guinea in Group B of the tournament.
