Burnley chairman Mike Garlick says he is keen to bring in quality players over the summer as he prepares for the transfer window. The Clarets ended their season with defeat to the Gunners and finished 15th in the Premier League table, worse than last year’s seventh, but their second best ever.

Garlick has now turned his attention to the transfer marker and where boss Sean Dyche needs to strengthen over the summer, with quality rather than quantity likely to be the key. He said: “Attentions turn immediately to summer business and looking to strengthen the squad.
“Again, I’ll reiterate that we will look to do that sensibly – and it will be another tough market to work in. “But wherever possible, and within the financial model that has served us so well, we will look to add quality to our numbers.”
