Scott Dann says there was never any truth in the rumours claiming he almost left Crystal Palace in January. English centre-back Dann has struggled for first-team opportunities this season, largely because of injuries, and Saturday’s 2-1 defeat to Brighton was just his fourth Premier League appearance of the campaign.
The 32-year-old was linked with a January exit from Selhurst Park to relegation-threatened Fulham, who were also believed to be showing an interest in Chelsea defender Gary Cahill.

However, Dann says he never considered leaving the Eagles and is happy to be back playing again. “You get to that stage where I wasn’t in the team at times and things like that spring up.
It probably wasn’t just me, there was a lot of talk going on in January,” he said. “I have just been concentrating on getting as fit as I can and giving myself the best chance to get in the team when called upon. At the end of the day it is a squad game. “Thankfully I have been able to play the last couple of games.”
