Tottenham Hotspur manager Roberto De Zerbi has revealed that he has implemented a strict ban on mobile phones as he fights to rescue the club’s alarming start to the season.

During a recent training camp in Marbella, Spain, De Zerbi banned mobile phones during breakfast, lunch, and dinner to help the squad bond and pull through their current slump.
“We worked on the pitch, we stayed together,” De Zerbi explained. “We removed phones from breakfast, lunch, and dinner to stay together, and to speak, because now it’s like [on the phone] all the time.

“We had two or three important meetings speaking about football and our situation, [for] everyone to take responsibility. Nothing more. Some dinners just for the players, some dinners with the staff.”
Under the new rule, players are forced to look up and engage with one another during meals, a simple cultural shift aimed at boosting squad chemistry as a struggling Spurs side searches for any advantage it can get.
