Catalan right-back Martin Montoya says he is happy enough with his first season with Brighton but expects to do better next term.
Montoya moved to the Seagulls from Valencia last summer and settled in well at the club in a season of struggle for the side, but he expects to do better in his second term at the club.
The defender says the first campaign at any new club is always a tricky one and he now expects to move up a level. Montoya told The Argus: “I’m happy. I think in the matches I played, I performed to a good level.
“But I think you can always improve. “The first season is difficult. You have to adapt to the football, the team-mates, the weather, everything. “I am sure next season will be better on a collective level and on a personal level.”
