Dennis: Club Brugge Best So Far, Will Keep Working Hard

Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis is proud to be in Club Brugge – the best Ligue 1 side so far this term and is determined to keep working hard with teammates after scoring his third goal in two consecutive games in Sunday’s 4-0 home win against KAA Gent, reports Completesports.com.

Dennis hogged the headlines after grabbing a brace in Brugge’s 2-2 away draw against European giants Real Madrid in Tuesday’s UEFA Champions League Group A match at the Estadio Santiago Bernabeu.

The 21-year-old who was named in the UEFA Champions League team of the week scored the third goal against Gent.

He was replaced by his compatriot, Dennis Okereke in the 69th minute.

“It was a good match for the team and an important win. In the event of a loss we were only equal with them, but thanks to this victory we now have six points ahead [of Gent],” Dennis told Club Brugge’a website after the match.

“We played at home, the three points were important and I am satisfied with my goal. I thank God and will keep working hard.

”We have a strong team, a lot of positive energy and we support each other through thick and thin. Not only the attackers are top. We have a good goalkeeper, the defenders are calm and mature and the midfielders are also doing well. Everyone plays strong and fully supports the team.”

Club Brugge remain the only team yet to taste defeat in the Belgian League this season and sit comfortably at the top of the log, four points ahead of second placed Standard Liege.

Dennis attributes the team’s positive start to the positive work ethics within the squad.

He added: “We are having a good season and it is running smoothly. Everyone works hard and gives in to the full and then you get this as a result.

”So for now we are the best team this season. But it is still early and thirty games will follow. Now you just have to win matches and we’ll see where we end up.

“We remain undefeated, but everything is possible in football. We just have to keep our heads, keep working hard and give everything in every race.”

A good game. This lad has mature so much and I was impressed by the fluidity of the team.Club Brugge coach seem a decent coach to have raised a very good passing team.
Okereke though didn’t score but was impressed by his three assists which unfortunately wasn’t converted.
Apparently,Dennis and Okereke with what I saw have a bright future.
Brugge is a better team than lile
