Dennis Proud Of Watford Performance Vs Chelsea

Nigeria forward Emmanuel Dennis was proud of Watford performance in the 2-1 defeat against Chelsea at the Vicarage Road on Wednesday night.

Dennis cancelled out Mason Mount’s opening goal late in the first half and put the Chelsea defence under pressure for most of the game.

The striker said that the performance was an indication of the team’s evolution under head coach Claudio Ranieri.

“I’m really proud of the team because we played really well,” Dennis told the club website.

“The result is unfortunate, they were lucky to take the three points. The intensity was good and we’re slowly understanding the way the manager wants us to play. We can see the progress in how we play so I’m really proud of the team, we just need to keep working hard and the results will come.”

Dennis said he was enjoying being part of the Watford team this season and feels he is contributing positively.

“I knew if I tried to shoot he was going to open his legs and I was lucky to score in the end,” he said of his strike. “I’m happy with the goal but in the end we didn’t get the three points.

“I’m just doing my job, I’m really happy I’m here and I’m enjoying being part of the team. I’m training well and being positive, and I’m really happy.”

  • Let the NFF decide in time concerning the fate Gennot Rohr as the coach of Super Eagles of Nigeria. We have less than 5 weeks to the tournament in Cameroon (2021 AFCON). We need to prepare very well for the tournament. We have the players but lack good leaders to harness these bundles of talents God Almighty has given to us.What a shame. Ourleaders (NFF) cannot get us a good coach to make Super Eagles a beautiful bride in football for almost six years. It’s a big shame to this administration and if we fail in the forth coming AFCON, this administration of Mr. Melvin Amaju Pinnick should be held culpable and be made to account for his bad stewardships. The same goes for Mr. Shehu Dikko that has made NPFL to be like primary school tournament. No sponsorship, no consistent calendar year, no television right, bad officiating to mention a few. Indeed this present NFF will go into the history book of NFF as the worst set of bad and most uncoordinated set of people in history of Nigeria football. God bless Nigeria.

  • Dennis can play and attack from the wings, which will take some pressure off the main striker. He is good at finding the forward players judging by the number of assists he has provided.
I say play him on either left or right. If Victor moses is returning then he should attack from the left wing with moses attacking from the right. Then we can have taiwo awoniyi as the striker upfront or any of dessers or sadiq. Sounds good. Looks good too. Lets see what the Super Eagles handlers make of it.

  • SUPER EAGLES PROPOSED LINEUP

    OKOYE

    AWAZIEM AKPOGUMA. LEON. AINA.

    NDIDI. FRANK.

    V.MOSES. ARIBO. DENNIS

    AWONIYI

If I have all these players at my disposal, this is the formation I will try out. I feel it will be productive in terms of goals creation and goals scored plus it will make the midfield more compact as the two wingers will drop into the midfield to get the ball thereby helping out when it matters. Also, with aribo in an advanced position, and v.moses and Dennis on the wings and awoniyi upfront, I see the team scoring alot of goals.

I would take Frank out in his place Aribo,Aribo’s place Iwobi.
I would play Dessers as the point man.
Dessers is so cold and deadly in attack.Awoniyi misses so many chances to lead our attack.

      I beg to differ #Sportsfan.

Okoye is not an extra-ordinary Goalkeeper. Give us a tenaciously gifted and talented world-class Goal Keeper in the mold of Mendy E. of Chelsea.
Alloy Agu & Rohr are scams that is why they have failed to get us such brave goal keeper and bring him to the limelight of soccer.

The New Coach should get us Adeleye in Isreali (Wit unbelievable reflexes), and his likes elsewhere. Also, Get us great Attacking midfielders who can singlehandedly impact games especially in tough matches (like; Michael Olise, Amoo, et al.,).

Finally, kick out the old, weak and retired stars like Ighalo, Musa, Shehu, …

      Shalom!

@ Greenturf you seems to trust iwobi so much. That guy is not good. What he could not do at arsenal, saka is doing it. Even Balogun is doing it. Aribo create chances and as well score goals but iwobi nothing. From arsenal to Everton yet no improvement. Just take a look at sake. From winger to left back yet has the same number of assist last season and this season he has continued even with the injury he sustain. If iwobi were to be playing for England, you think he will even be on standby?
