Dessers, Ejuke Named In Eredivisie Team Of The Season

Nigerian duo, Cyriel Dessers and Chidera Ejuke have been included in the Dutch Eredivisie Team of the Season after the league was brought to an abrupt end following the decision by the Dutch government to ban all sporting events until September, due to the coronavirus outbreak.

Both players were impressive for their respective clubs in the 2019-2020 season, which was recently cancelled by the KNVB.

Dessers scored 15 goals and recorded five assists, while Ejuke contributed nine goals for SC Heerenven.

In a publication by nederlands-voetbal, with a favoured 4-3-3 formation, the Nigerians were joined by Berghuis at the front.

Explaining why both players were preferred in their positions, the website wrote, “Cyriel Dessers in Almelo in recent months, almost every shot was a hit.

“Chidera Ejuke (SC Heerenveen), Okay, Bryan Linssen, Quincy Promes and Oussama Idrissi scored more often. But the most attractive left winger of the Premier League really played football at SC Heerenveen this season. So, Chidera Ejuke, good example of scouting work by the Frisians.”

If ejuke was born in England, Nigeria would have been begging him to play for them, I doubt if he would have accepted, with the kind of talent that boy has.he is better than your Abraham,Eze etc who are doing shakara for you, if you don’t know, better than some wingers we have in that team.

This is my biggest worries with us, if the Dutch start dragging him, all of a sudden, we will get interested. I couldn’t believe this guy started his playing career locally in nigeria. So much talent to back the hardwork. I love GR but not inviting this guy even if it’s on standby, is a slap to hardwork. He deserves better than being overlooked

Rohr has already stated that he’s watching Ejuke’s progress in the Eredivise. It’s just a matter of time before he gets a call up to the SuperEagles. His invitation to the SuperEagles is imminent. I’m pretty sure he will play some part in the AFCON qualifiers after the Sierra Leone double header. Hopefully SuperEagles should’ve qualify if we get maximum points from both legs. Then against Lesotho and Benin others like Ejuke will be called up too. Every quality Nigerian players doing well in Europe and ready to play for the SuperEagles will definitely get their chances. #FLY LIKE AN EAGLE INTO THE FUTURE.
