Cyriel Dessers was pleased to help Feyenoord avoid defeat in their Eredivisie clash against Groningen, reports Completesports.com.
The Nigerian netted an equalizer for his side in the encounter to help them earn a share of the spoils.
Groningen took the lead in the 23rd minute through Michael de Leeuw.
Substitute Dessers then levelled scores for the hosts a minute before the hour mark.
The goal sent the forward into the record books as just the first player, since József Kiprich (in 1992/93 season) , to score five goals for Feyenoord as a substitute in a single Eredivisie season.
“I did my thing,” Dessers told Voetbalprimeur.
“The difference between a big smile and a sour face is sometimes very small.”

No eagles striker is technical in goal front than DESSERS. With the kinds of goals he scores. I can say this anywhere with my full chest.
I would have loved to see this guy one more time to really assess him,rohr gave him just 4/5 mins of game time and never invited him again,now we have gone back to the era of bribery and corruption,I wanted a homebased coach but it seems corruption is rooted in thier DNA and can never leave them.questionable call-ups,excuses here and there, exactly the same thing that rohr started doing during the latter days of his coaching career and failed.plz amaju pinnick can now get us another coach . eguavoen should be ashamed of himself and I will hold him responsible if we can beat Ghana to that ticket
I find it strange that such a player has been excluded from the 25-man Super Eagles squad to prosecute the win or burst games against the Black Stars of God. No matter what excuse our national team selectors may put up for excluding Cyriel Dessers from the two games,the truth is that it remains the most bizarre and extremely controversial decision of the century. So strange!!!
I still don’t understand why coach Eguavoen has refused to considered Dessers as a back up to Osimhen.
This is world cup qualifiers for Godsake, no room for errors. The gaffer needs a striker who can take his chances.
The gaffer is busy talking about home-based players bla bla bla.
If they ask the coach about Dessers now, it is guarantee that coach Eguavoen will say he don’t know much about him. Does that make any sense at all.
If Feyenoord fans could ask the coaching crew of Feyenoord FC to make Dessers their full time and permanent striker, who is coach Eguavoen to us the fans of the Super Eagles?
My advice for you Dessers, keep the fire burning. Keep scoring goals and I am pretty sure that Nigerians will have your back.
I know say one day, you go kuku make me proud in the Super Eagles. Plumptre is enjoying her time with the Super Falcons and Nigerians are happy for Her. So no worries Dessers, Nigerians will make the move soon.
