Vieri: Why Vlahovic Is Better Than Osimhen

Former Inter Milan star, Christian Vieri, believes Juventus’ Dusan Vlahovic is a better striker than Napoli’s Victor Osimhen because the Serbian is more prolific in front of goal than the Nigerian international.

Vlahovic and Osimhen, who are about the same age, are widely regarded as the best young strikers in Serie A.

However, speaking during the broadcast of Napoli’s Serie A 1-0 defeat to AC Milan at the weekend, Vieri said on DAZN: “They [Victor Osimhen and Dusan Vlahovic] are both strong, but I would take Vlahovic.

“Dusan scores more goals than the Nigerian right now.”

However, former Crystal Palace star, Nicola Ventola, agreed with Vieri: “I too would choose Vlahovic between the two. If I could, I would take them both.”

They both have a lot of similarities excepting that Osimhen is better in the air. Heading is an important soccer maneuver that every good striker must learn. I will go for the two for quick goals they can produce.

  • This is what get me really angry ,osihmen this osimhen that but no one is talking about lnsigne and his zero input in the team for so many matches now , he has not made any correct pass, or being in any way useful to the team, why is he till on that team I do not knw? All his waiting for is for Victor osimhen to get a spot kick so he can play , why is the Italian press not talking about how useless insigne is in that team is a big surprise to me, will he still be praying if his and African player I don’t think

Football is all about the numbers right now, osimehn is good but injuries has really set him back, maybe he needs to either adjust his style of play a bit,he seems to use so much strength and focus on speed and finishing, rather than physicality,I have observed that each time pundits or ex players talk of him, they always refer to his physicality rather than his finishing.

      As an u17 player:

For those of us who have been following his development right from when he was cutting football teeth, physicality is one of Osimhen’s trademarks. He is used to scoring great goals out of nothing and he rarely waits on the midfield for inputs.
