Super Eagles winger Nathan Tella was at his best mettle as he netted a goal in Bayer Leverkusen’s 4-0 thrashing of Wehen Wiesbaden in the DFB-Pokal on Saturday.
The Nigerian international came on from the bench in the 65th minute for Fernandez to score the third goal of the game in the 69th minute.

It was the first goal of the season for the former Southampton winger, who will be eager to make a positive start for Leverkusen.
However, his Nigerian compatriot, Victor Boniface was on the bench for the entire 90 minutes of the encounter at the BRITA-Arena. Recall that Boniface is making a return to the club after going on loan to Werder Bremen last season.
Prior to his goal, the visitor had taken the lead with Patrik Schick in the 43rd minute before Lucas Vázquez extended their lead in the 47th minute.

The host, despite playing in front of their home supporters, failed to threaten Bayer Leverkusen’s backline. They could only manage 29% possession against Leverkusen’s 71% ball possession.
Christian Kofane scored the fourth goal in the 79th minute with a simple tap in to secure Leverkusen’s ticket to the next round of the DFB Cup.
