Diaz Hopes For Real Stay

Real Madrid forward Mariano Diaz says he hopes to stay with the club after scoring a brace in the 3-2 win over Villarreal.

The 25-year-old Dominican Republic international impressed with his two goals but reports are rife suggesting he could soon be on the way out of the Bernabeu.

Real are keen on Eintracht Frankfurt striker Luka Jovic and it has been suggested that the German club would want Diaz as part of a potential swap deal.

When quizzed about his future, Diaz said: “I don’t have a crystal ball but I want to stay at Madrid.

I am very happy and let’s see anything happens going forward. “I am very happy for having won at home and on top of that, scoring.

We enjoyed it and the fans too, which is the important thing, even though the final score wasn’t great. “They netted but we were good too and we had the ball.

We’re very happy for the win and the fans received it well.”
