Chelsea have announced the signing of highly-rated defender Honest Ahanor from Serie A club Atalanta, with the youngster set to officially join the Blues in 2027.
The 18-year-old enjoyed an impressive campaign with Atalanta last season, making 35 appearances across all competitions in his first year in Bergamo after joining from Genoa in July 2025.
Ahanor’s outstanding performances at club level also earned him international recognition, with the defender making his first two senior appearances for Italy in June.
According to Sky Sport Italia, Chelsea have agreed a transfer package worth around €48m, including add-ons, to secure the services of the talented defender.

Despite completing the move to Stamford Bridge, Ahanor is expected to spend the 2026/27 season on loan at Premier League club Crystal Palace, where he will continue his development and gain valuable experience in English football.
Ahanor only joined Atalanta from Genoa last summer in a deal worth approximately €20m.
The transfer made him the second-most expensive Italian player under the age of 17 at the time, behind former Genoa and Monaco striker Pietro Pellegri.
Chelsea will now hope Ahanor continues his rapid development before linking up with their first-team squad in 2027.
