Chelsea have announced the signing of Marco Palestra from Serie A outfit Atalanta, Completesports.com reports.
The Italy international signed a six-year contract with Chelsea, committing his future to Stamford Bridge until 2032.
Palestra becomes the first signing of the Xabi Alonso era, marking the Spaniard’s first addition since taking charge of the Blues.
The 21-year-old spent last season on with Cagliari, scoring one goal with four assists in 37 appearances for the Sardinians.

Palestra Excited With New Challenge
“I’m very excited to get started. I’ve felt the energy since the first day Chelsea wanted me. I can’t wait to start, see all the fans, my team-mates and the manager,” Palestra told the club website.
“We have so many talented players here, a very strong squad and manager in Xabi. He has spoken to me about how he wants us to play, which is exciting, and we can’t wait to compete in the Premier League.”
Jackpot For Atalanta
Chelsea’s reported agreement with Palestra will see the player earn more than €5 million per season on a six-year contract, with the club holding an option to extend the deal by an additional year.
Atalanta are set to receive an initial €57 million, plus a further €3 million in performance-related bonuses, while also securing a 10 per cent sell-on clause in any future transfer.
