Nigeria winger Moses Simon scored the winning goal as Nantes recorded a hard fought 1-0 home win against OGC Nice  in their French Ligue 1 clash at the Stade de la Beaujoire – Louis Fonteneau on Saturday night, Completesports.com reports.

Simon hit the back of the net four minutes from time to send the home fans into wild celebration.

U-23 Eagles forward, Taiwo Awoniyi  was an  unused substitute  for Mainz in  the game.

Moving on to Spain, Samuel Chukuweze saw action for 90 minutes but could do little  to prevent Villarreal  from losing  2-1 against Osasuna at the Estadio El Sadar (Pamplona Iruñea))

Ramon Azeez featured for 51 minutes in Granada’s 4-2 away defeat  to Real Madrid.

  • A mixed bag of performances from our players this weekend for those captured in the article above.

Moses Simon: good goal, better for his confidence.

Jamilu Collins : bad penalty miss; set back from last week’s wonder goal.

Henry Onyekuru: why did hell did he leave Galastasaray?

Josh Maja: yet to pull down trees this season.

Samuel Kalu: I just hope he is okay health wise.

Taiwo Awoniyi: it was never going to be easy for him in Mainz.

Samuel Chukwueze: some fans who watched the match slammed his performance as wretched (I just hope Ugo Awunze is not reading this!).

Ramon Azeez: another performance against a world class team to add further feathers to his profile cap.
