Tyronne Ebuehi and Umar Sadiq have been drafted in as replacements for Taiwo Awoniyi and Ola Aina ahead of the the Super Eagles’ international friendly games against Saudi Arabia and Mozambique.
Nottingham Forest stars Awoniyi and Aina, will miss the friendly games due to injuries.
They were initially included in the 25-man squad unveiled by Jose Peseiro last Monday.
Both players did not feature in Forest’s goalless draw away to Crystal Palace on Saturday.

Dessers or Akpom should have been call
Dessers and Akpom besides playing in a wee league, are struggling for form.Ebuehi is doing well and Sadiq recuperatin very well…The gaffer made the right calls
Thumbs up Sisterwoman Juliet, you na it. Someone like Paul Onuachu who is scoring like Oyingbo market is overlooked for Sadiq Umar.
So much corruption.
What about Ebube Duru, why not call him instead of Ebuehi?
Yeye dey smell.
Sadiq must sit up because he’s yet to score or assist a goal since coming back from injury. Ebuehi has to grab this chance to give the coach something to think about and earn consistent call ups because I believe he has something special to offer as a back up right back.
Don’t understand why he is the right choice. Like you said, he hasn’t done a thing for his club and he is coming off an injury.
Urban or Akor in France would have been better options.
I personally feel Sadiq is overhyped and really does not offer the SE much.
A round of applause @Eligwe.
Ebuehi has been average. What about Akpoguma or Olisa Ndah?
I n I will always like Sadiq Umar but he is not scoring. Even Henry Onyekuru could be better. Man dem NFF are very corrupt.
He chose the right players. Good one for pessero. He wants to check out Sadiq very closely. Injury has not given him the opportunity to do so since he became the coach. Dessers would have been a good choice too but the coach has worked with closely at the beginning of his coaching period with eagles.
The coach made structured call with Ebuehi for Aina good call As I said a few days ago he would. As for Umar I would have preferred he used the opportunity to call up Nathan Tella instead.
Great call @Ugo. You are one of the few people who make me come here to comment on Nigerian football.
Nathan Tella sabi wella. Even Onuachu has been scoring like basket yet he is overlooked.
I n I talk am say Yeye dey smell.
I think is right with this new call up.
It is few days to the Afcon with world cup qualifiers starting soon.. where is the Time to start budding newer players? Jordan was have gotten Abit of the picture of what is expected of him as he sat on the bench in the last game with the bushiru guy as the only new player in the team for Now..
For a player like Sadiq he has been with this team in the past and has Afcon experience, and plays in the best league in the world la Liga though not as a stater.. why not bring in someone who will integrate faster with the system than an entirely new player in akor, tella or even orban when we already have excess strikers.. as for ebuehi it is wise he gets back to the team , he didn’t go much badly in the last game but has alot to improve upon to displace aino( his club player of the last month) or a Samuel.. aino is injured and Samuel has a flu and might not even play in the upcoming games ( although I doubt this) so who can fill up the right back position if not ebuehi?
I think a player like desser just missed his chance.. with the way our strikers are getting injured replacement spaces will be available in future games and those who do well in their clubs will be selected especially players who have super eagles experience already.. this is Afcon and it is not a time to invite players yet to integrate into the coach philosophy..
Strikers who I think still stand a chance: deseer ( he scored pesiro first goal as our coach), onuachu ( know what is expected), orban ( has been to the camp, if he has been scoring lately he would have been selected ahead of Sadiq)
Now I saw a florentina guy yesterday but he is an underage yet to play for the Italian team .. can he be invited to change nationality.. he is a Nigerian Italian.. he good defensively… For florentina to beat Napoli at home and he played throughout the game.. if I be paceiro he wil be my noba 3 4or 5 kayode the name
sadiq umar is not having the best of times in spain but he is getting game time and i want to believe that with time he will discover his best goal scoring form. he has Nations cup experience and though he may not start in the friendly games or make IT to the nations cup if awoniyi recovers, he is a very good option to have on standby. i rate him higher than paul onuachu, akpom, dessers combined. ebuehi deserves his place in the team. he is a world cup player and is playing regularly in italy
