Edo Governor Obaseki Congratulates Insurance Goalie Obasogie On Super Eagles’ Invitation

Edo State Governor Godwin Obaseki has congratulated Bendel Insurance goalkeeper, Amas Obasogie on his maiden invitation to the Super Eagles.

Obasogie was handed a late invitation for the Super Eagles 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers against Lesotho and Zimbabwe on Monday.

The 23-year-old took the place of Udinese goalkeeper Maduka Okoye, who pulled out as a result of injury.

The Governor wrote on his official X handle “Hearty congratulations to our own dear Bendel Insurance goalkeeper, Amas Obasogie, on your call-up to the national team, the Super Eagles ahead of the FIFA World Cup Qualifier games against Lesotho and Zimbabwe,”
