Eguavoen Accepts N3m A Month NFF Technical Director Job Offer Declined By Amuneke

Former Super Eagles coach Austin Eguavoen is set to replace Bitrus Bewarang as the Technical Director of Nigeria Football Federation, Complete Sports reports authoritatively.

Informed sources at the Nigeria Football Federation’s Sunday Dankaro Secretariat revealed that the 1994 AFCON winner as a player was due in Abuja Monday for documentation after he had agreed on terms and resumption date with the football ruling body

Eguavoen who has coached almost all categories of the Nigerian national teams with the exception of the women teams, was given the job after the football body’s first choice Emmanuel Amuneke turned down the offer over monetary terms disagreement.

Eguavoen is expected to take home three million Naira (N3million) monthly as salary almost double of what Bewarang earned while he was technical director.

“We have offered the Technical Department Director’s job to Austin Eguavoen and this time, we are happy that he accepted the job, as well as our terms and period of the contract. We are expecting him in Abuja on Monday to finalize things and possibly for unveiling

“Eguavoen had the required qualifications to head the department and he proved to be very knowledgeable about the job. He also accepted the salary and allowances we offered him, and hopefully, it becomes effective as soon as he signs the documents this week” our source divulged.

The Edo state born coach began his coaching career with Sliemena Wanderers in Malta. He later coached Black Leopards in South Africa before stints with Enyimba International, Sharks FC, Bendel Insurance, Adamawa United as well as managing Super Eagles, U-23 Eagles, and U-17 national teams.

Good move but we no know which to believe again. Shebi na una talk say Mali don employ am as coach? Anyway, csn, na una way shaa. Una don begin dy confuse people like omo9ja and Lai Mohammed. Congrats to him any way.

  • Is Eguavoen this hungry or does he not have integrity at all?

  • Omo9ja 4 years ago

@Oakfield, today is your day. You can say whatever you like. I am really down with what the Nigerian government is doing to the citizens of this country Nigeria.

They have turned the peaceful protest to a bloody protest. Many people have been killed now.

I am terribly sad and disappointed. God have mercy on this our nation . We will End SARS and bad things this country. God bless Nigeria!!!

Omo9ja, I admire your dignified response to an unprovoked negative comment.

Your views may sometimes be strange, you may be critical of the coach (and you have a right to be if you want), but you are a dignified person.

      #Respect.

  • Good for the new TD. We will rate him based on his program for the teams and their performances.

  • Stade malian should ve been the best . To see is coaching job grow and dollar.at stade maybe 10000dollar would be the least pay. X 450 and benefits. Accommodation. Ticket. Etc but with nff I sure 3m is all provision provided no accommodation no vehicle no flight ticket. And only offive sitting. No referral. And if he talks authority will get annoyed.

@Dele,Eguavoen is a patriotic Nigerian who would rather work for less for the good of his beloved country.

Ademola Lookman is playing very well currently against Crystal palace. But chai, Zaha wan break Aina waist oooo lol (tho anyone can be dribble). Since Eze dey currently chop bench for CP maybe 9ja can give him a live wire bcos like play like play England no go even cao am for friendly sef. If Lookman and his adviser dem sharp him go sharpally reject any overtures from England to dump SE. I think Northgate plan na to frustrate our sons born in England. Saka after all him play for arsenal na only friendly against Wales (o may be wrong) dem use am for, he may never get another call from Northgate as dat position dey saturated (mount, Sancho, Rushford, greenwood, foden just to name a few. If I be saka papa I go tell am se Saka omo mi ori e oda oooo, olodo ni e ni, who soji ooo lol apologies for my Yorba.

    • @proudly 9ja….

Meanwhile southgate is planning to hijack ademola….

He’s still keep close taps on him; advicing him to continue delivering for fulham which will make him to force his way into the 3lion squad….

But any way, soldier go; soldier com….
I’m okay with KALU, CHUKW., EJUKE, SIMON, even DENNIS….
      STILL KEEPING EYES ON AMOO….

      • Proudly 9ja 4 years ago

Yeah UBFE, that Southgate and even Hodgson too with him tolotolo neck as well as Robson don dey tell our sons to dump 9ja for England.

  • @UBFE. Not to worry…he can’t play for either nations until process is either approved or denied for now, as the process is still in progress

  • Proudly 9ja 4 years ago

Guys, maybe una fit help me, has any premier league team gone an entire season without winning a match? E be like say Fulham wN create history ooo. 3 9ja guys might be part of this record setting team ooo.

Cuteprince, u are right, as long as the process is ongoing he can’t play for either countries. I think his mind is made up tho, he has selected 9ja over England.

I’m surprised with all the numerous options available for England,Southgate is shouting out our own Lookman, this is ridiculous!A lot of quality players cant get playing time for the three lions yet he wants to cap Lookman and dump him,I can’t understand this sick obsession.

The idea now is to use every club coach to pressure players with other background to dump the other country and play for England and it’s working.Lampard and Arteta have successfully got three players for England and Hodgson is on the prowl skulking about to make sure Eze turns out for England.

I can’t wait to see the England Euro 2021 roster next year, that squad list outcome would be a big lesson for players with dual eligibility making future decision on playing for England.

ha ha ha @proudly 9ja, I am worried about them too. losing to Crystal palace is bad enough but with three Nigerians, how that can be really bad. eberechi eze starts from the bench, playing like this may not even see him start for SE, that’s for sure especially if ejaria switch allegiance.
lookman should not be deceived, even if he scores over 15 goals this season he won’t be taken serious playing for England simply because of the likes of rashford, Sterling, Sancho, etc these aforementioned players have already started building chemistry with the three lions team already meaning lookman form won’t be decisive enough to let him get a starting shirt. saying this should not mean that he will stroll into the SE squad, I prefer kalu and chukwueze ahead of him. and besides, SE may start going with two strikers in order to cement the partnership of osimhem and iheanacho, and lookman don’t look like he will do well in a wingback role
this is just my opinion, it could change
    love SUPER EAGLES FOREVER!

  • The only way I can see lookman join the Super Eagles is if Musa resigns, one of the regulars get injured or lose form and Ejuke stops performing. He is a good player and can add something to the team but he will need to play some exceptional football to cause Rohr to drop his regulars.
Meanwhile, im really feeling this guy Jordan Torunigha. He is a really good defender who is left footed. Big and strong with a good pass and also has good pace. He will be an asset to the Super eagles. With him in the team we can play a back three comfortably. He can also function in a back four, he looks the part. I hope he is on coach rohrs radar. With him on the team it will be bye bye to players like omerua, awaziem and collins.
    Check these formations out:

    3-5-2

    OKOYE

    Akpoguma. Leon. Torunigha

    Kingsley. Ndidi Zaidu

    Iwobi. Aribo

    Iheanacho Osimhen

    4. – 3. – 3.

    OKOYE

    Kingsley. Leon. Torunigha. Zaidu

    . Ndidi Aribo

    Iwobi.

    Iheanacho Osimhen. Ejuke/lookman

  • Kingston 4 years ago

@sportsfan your 3-5-2 would work (I find it too defensive, while not use kalu and simom as wingbacks. they are both comfortable playing there)
but your 4-3-3 won’t work because Iheanacho is not a winger

  • D-cardinal 3 years ago

No be joke lookman is better than all the wingers in current SE set up..He is a winger that scores and has a powerful shot…When his papers are approved you will see the wonders this guy will do..meanwhile I think its time up for Collins …C.Bassey should compete with sanusi for that left back..that guy has better cross than sanusi..

  • Abdul handsy 3 years ago

This guy’s name is Jordan torunarigha and not Torunigha. The other guy who fancy so much is Felix UDUOKHAI. I think it is an Edo related name while Torunarigha is from Ondo state without any doubt. Uduokhai has filed for his international allegiance switch to Nigeria but I am not yet sure of Torunarigha. Hence, my fancy line-up goes thus.

    OKOYE

    Ehizibue. Balogun. Uduokhai Zaidu

    Aribo. Ndidi. Ejaria

    Lookman. Osimehn. Ejuke

  • Kingston 3 years ago

how accurate is the allegiance switch of Felix udoikhai? I couldn’t see any verified statement of it on the internet. but if so then it is a big plus for us. too bad, he would have to compete against tosin adarabioyo for place.
and please, why would you place ejaria ahead of iwobi? there are many things I don’t agree with your line up especially when considering world cup 2022.
but I still respect your opinion!

  • Iheanacho is not expected to play as a winger in the formation, he is playing as a second striker, the wing backs are the one who would bare the wingers responsibility of crossing the ball. Dont know much about this Felix guy, but what I know is a left footed central defender will bring more balance to the defence.
Tosin might be good but I dont see him disposing any of the aforementioned players in the defence. To me he is just a semi ajayi kind of player.
Using kalu and simon as wing backs might be good, but they are make shift wing backs. Not the very best when it comes to defending. I prefer defenders that are naturally blessed with the ability to attack. Playing two wingers and one attacker is a strain on the attacker especially when the wingers dont score alot of goals or score regularly. I suggest using one winger and two attackers (ideye, emenike, moses). Like we did at afcon 2013. This will split the goal scoring responsibilities. An both strikers Will work for each other. This is the fornation everton also uses and its working well for them
