Eguavoen: Napoli Holds The Key To Osimhen’s Participation At AFCON 2021

Eguavoen: Napoli Holds The Key To Osimhen’s Participation At AFCON 2021

Super Eagles interim coach, Austine Eguavoen has revealed that Napoli may determine Victor Osimhen’s participation at the forthcoming 2021 Africa Cup of Nations.

Eguavoen made this known in an interview with Brila FM, where he said that he would be willing to include the former Lille forward if he’s fit enough for the tournament.

“Firstly we hope he is healthy, recovers fully and ensure the club allows him join the squad.”

“However, if this doesn’t work out, I’m sure he’d want the team to goon and do well, but we also have other players Awoniyi, Dennis and others who can deliver.”

Recall that the Napoli striker was expected to be out of action for three months after he suffered multiple facial fractures from a nasty clash of heads with Inter Milan’s Skriniar in their Serie A encounter on November 21.

However, he made a quick return to training few days after surgery and could be ready to play at the bi-annual competition.

Denis and Awoniyi are doing well fine…But nobody does it better like Osimehn!!!

  • Johnson 2 years ago

Coach Eguavoen, you are on the chair already, do what you feel good and right for true Nigerians. You have our support to leverage on. Avoid situations that clearly make your team get more frustrated. Osimhen would’ve been a good addition but with health, seek alternatives, you have only few days to the haculean task.

    • M. Abbas 2 years ago

With true words, no argument. Nothing to add.

      • M. Abbas, huhuhu true words on CSN is d opposite of frustrations. They can’t know.

        • You this thief, you are here again impersonating me Abi?

          Are you alright upstairs???

What manner of lack of confidence do you have???

  • Obest 2 years ago

Honestly, Super eagles will miss Victor Osimhen.but I like this Dennis Guy. So bold to take on defenders and he looks quick on the block. I really can’t wait for the Afcon to begin. So many options readily available for us in terms of strikers. To the new interim coach of the SE.. Do your job without fear or favor. Go for the best legs irrespective of the region they come from. Good Luck SE.

You see that is why we all love GENERAL ROHR. You don’t just sit your dumb ass down and say we hope… We pray to be lucky bla bla bla.. Those time you see GENERAL ROHR sweeting over his players being fit for a game whether they got injured in their club or country. I mean making contacts trying to encourage and convince the player and the club to make sure the player is ready to play for his country.. I mean playing the role of not just a manager but a father too. Y’all think it was a joke?? And you see why chemistry plays a big part in coaching. Maybe Osimehn don dey draw leg back inorder to avoid playing under “una own”. And he is there giving excuse.. LMAO!!!

    • @MONKEY POST, they don’t understand that one o. It’s too hard for them to think. Many blockheads just open their mouths to talk rubbish.

By now Rohr would have placed a call to Napoli or even travel there himself to see Osimhen’s condition. Our own go dey go bear parlour, dey do old boys reunion and be talking rubbish, because he doesn’t have capacity.

The funny thing, is that someone here will say his capacity is own the pitch forgetting all the other areas of a players life.

This takes me back to the days of Sir Ferguson and Mourinho at United and Chelsea. Do you know that those coaches were even visiting their players at home.

They even talk to their wives for those ones that were married to try and treat that player well at home so he can deliver on the pitch. That affects their mentality before big games. That’s why Sir Ferguson always got David Beckham to perform.

But our own, na arm chair coaches and shouting orders.

Truly no argument @Abbas. This is one thing Belmadi is cherished till date. He keeps updating Algiers football enthusiastics on the goings. What the SE Coach has done is to offer a new and improved features that serves as enhancements to make the end-users(fans) experience a better engagement. He should continue in that template mostly as it concerns provisional list and what the lads are saying. God bless Nigeria.

  • Marvelous 2 years ago

That was the benefits of Rohr can talk to Napoli anytime any moment. Who is Equavon to Napoli? Napoli will release him if they want. But I bet you if Rohr was in charge Napoli will release him sharp sharp.

    • Marvelous 2 years ago

      *benefits of Rohr,Rohr can…..*

    • @Marvelous what you said is absolute horse shit. Napoli and these professional teams have protocols in place regarding players health and fitness. Napoli will do what is in the best interest of Napoli first. They don’t give a shit if Rohr, Buhari or Joe Biden himself is also SE coach. If something happens to Oshimen aren’t they the ones footing his medical bills and rehabilitation. They answer first to their shareholders, supporters and sponsors before anybody else. This is not Nigeria paddy paddy where u get things done by who you know. Only difference is that with Rohr if there is a grey area where they can make some adjustments/exemptions without interfering with existing policy and protocols they would be more willing to do it because one he may have more clout and international recognition than Eguaavon.

Besides players have more value even resale value when they play for both club and country so why would Napoli not want Oshimen to increase in value just in case they one day wan to cash in recoup/reinvest some of their initial Oshimen investment. Why do you think Iwobi got signed for $30m+. He was barely a regular at Arsenal at the time and his stock rose when he was integral part of Nigeria’s midfield in the last AfCON and also won bronze on first try.

I don’t care how you Rohr supporters frame it even if Eguavon turns out to be a failure won’t change my mind on the mediocrity of Rohr. Yes he started well and I supported him ardently but unlike some of you who get emotionally attached I am able to look at things objectively. Just qualifying for tournaments with so called games to spare yes is good feat but not an achievement to be so proud of. If you guys were honest with yourselves you will know that this team was going nowhere if Rohr continued with the current form and way he was handling the team. I can tell you now if you are struggling against CAR, Cape Verde, Sierra Leone etc the likes of Algeria, Senagal would have demolished this latest SE. then you guys were expecting to go beat Messi, Mbappe and co at the World Cup with Musa, Ighalo and Simon lol. This is the stupid, magical thinking that has African teams getting exposed a lot on the big international stage.

Deep down Rohr himself knows he is full of shit in his later selections before getting fired. In what planet do you think Germany or France will ignore Mueller, Gnabry, Sane, Mbappe etc to call in a German player in Saudi league. Even Gotze who is doing well and was their hero in World Cup they won isn’t being recalled and he plays at PSV. Did Columbia not drop Rodriguez when his form dipped and this is a guy that almost single handedly took them far in that World Cup. You guys keep celebrating mediocrity and see where it gets you. Do you think it’s a coincidence that in all the years of WC no African team has won it? God created those ppl in those countries too and just like your praying to win they are calling on God too only difference is they put in the work and make the required sacrifices however difficult to succeed. I have lost a lot of respect for Ahmed Musa too. Africans rarely have the integrity to quit, resign or say no when they know they are not being selected based on merit or know there are others that can deliver better than them for the sake of the mission/country.

      • I don’t know who you are or where you are from Rez, but I salute you for speaking the truth. You’ve spoken my mind verbatim.

It out of total patriotism to the national team that I canvass for whoever here. But mediocrity will always be the lot of those who can’t speak the truth to themselves and take necessary action.

  • Ali Gafar 2 years ago

Folks, Nigeria first is the Afcon slogan for the Super Eagles. Up coachie!

    • Monday 2 years ago

Ali Gafar, hope this is not an invitation to the frustrated few to make contributions?

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

I tell you @Marvelous can that one talk to himself?? And I also feel that’s the benefits of having a foreign coach..you know foreigners have a way they connect so easily…But black man to whiteman dey always dey turn long story..

    • Marvelous 2 years ago

Because a black man(Nigerian) is not always dubious even with things dubiousness should not be part of.

  • Festus Eduje 2 years ago

Eyaa, so Coach Eguavoen is really the Coach taking us to AFCON, wonderful. This should be good news na.
@Ben, everyone is happy as none is going to be frustrated. On the real side, I wish Osimhen makes it to Cameroon.

  • Damian 2 years ago

@Ben, you are actually said the opposite of true words is frustration, I think I’m seeing something. But what is responsible for this frustration na? Here is a local content Coach and had started very well.

    • @Damian, local content coach that can not get us anywhere in Football. Answer this now, since 2006 what has he won as a Coach, he has repeated failure upon failure. Yet it was Sports Minister interference that have him an opportunity to coach Super Eagles.
You know Aribo’s current coach was Kanu’s era in Football, not even their set of 94 players. Yet see how Giovanni van Bronckhorst is leading Rangers FC in Scotland.

Like where is it that you cannot go to if you truly know your onions??

      • Na dem Ali Gafar dey sell onions na. You ask for it, here you have it. Still hard to accept? They think na frustration with the currency. Change is constant, proved.

        • Change is constant Abi?? That why you can steal someone’s ID on CSN and be comfortable with it. Shame no catch you because change is constant???
In your mind, you have said something reasonable??

I can’t blame you honestly, it’s the environment you grew up in that didn’t give you confidence to believe in your self and your name I blame.

    • Nnemo 2 years ago

@Damian, we are yet to accept why Nff sacked Rohr or may be we ‘shut’ we legs ni.

  • Even reading the comments I’m sure frustration so abusive.

  • Vincent Ituma 2 years ago

I’m only reading o. It’s difficult for frustration to do away with Rohr, he hates local coaches of Nigeria origin, I think consortiums.

  • Ali Gafar 2 years ago

@Ben, frustration is abusive, are you reading the comments? No doubt he needs some freedom to it.

  • Christian Ifidu 2 years ago

He likes long stories no be small but very aimlessly at that. I think the SE coach, coach Eguavoen and his team needs our prayers as we open a church programme on CSN. Or don’t you believe in God?

    • Lopar 2 years ago

Christian, Ha ha ha ha, obviously when the topic becomes too hot, we dodge enter church. Na you church matta concern. I dey find my Bible to learn some verses, mahi.

Truth be told without Osimhen and Ighalo has formed a bond in the Super Eagles striking unit, the problem our Coach may have is getting another striker who can partner Odion Ighalo.

      • Christian Ifidu 2 years ago

I hope you are not blaming me. Nah una dey cram John 3:16 enter church service. Even with the cramming, nah op we go hear.

  • Seun Dejo 2 years ago

But the people that wanted Rohr to stay have long moved on with the Nigerian new Coach ké. Let’s just hope Coach Eguavoen and his team brings Afcon gold. For me shaa, Osimhen is very vital for the team, hopefully he gets fit.

  • Timothy Benitie 2 years ago

CSN, pls thanks for updating us. We are glad to hear from our SE.

    • Celia 2 years ago

That’s lot better. At times, I keep quiet wen I don’t know what to comment.

  • Largely well spoken coach. We will support you, you can do it. I however felt you would have shown more desire to have Osimhen, who is undoubtedly our best striker at the moment. Because he is already training, something like “I would do everything to have him, if fit” would have been good response. This will make the player, who is also one of our most committed, feel wanted. The club has a say, but Nigeria also has a stake to fight for, if the club wants to hold him back on flimsy reasons. I would also think you should have made calls to key players, including Osimhen, by now.

  • @Monkeyoost you are still fighting a lost battle. I thought you must have moved on from the dumb Rohr.

Anyway can you see what eguavon mentioned without even thinking – Dennis and awoniyi…two in form strikers. Ironically, these two are the ones the dumb Rohr always lock out of the team.

When the right Selection are done, 70% of the job is completed. Please ride on eguavon.

  • Good talk Eguavoen.

  • Ufuoma 2 years ago

If we are not holding on to straw already. Osimhen is game winner any day.

    • Kennedy Ilos 2 years ago

I hope we don’t miss Osimhen. @Ufuoma, really, to hold on to straw is the same as finding one self on the ground. I think we must find a way to contribute, it’s already a necessity.

  • Started well when he hasn’t kick a ball! Are you for real?

  • MONKEY POST 2 years ago

    @Christain ministries Nigeria January 11

  • Razak 2 years ago

I hope that Nigeria does well in the Africa Cup of nations Afcon2022 for those who wanted Gernot Rohr out and NFF if not you have no where to hide, prayers don’t deliver the cup I will be watching the NFF and Equavon no more apology, Good luck. Coaches come and go so does the members of NFF. Please judge them by their words after Afcon2022 tournment.

  • Great Talk Coach Augustine Eguavoen. It’s is clear forum mates as I said earlier on So called Rohr lovers are the enemies of Progress can you imagine @MONKEY POST @MARVELOUS comments wow just wow. I can not believe my ears firstly you want to rush Osimhen back from Injury when rest is best for him as he has had quite a nasty face injury only because you don’t want our INFORM replacements to take over the burden and get up to speed so come World Cup they will gel well with OSibobo. Instead they want to hear of Ighalo and Musa And Simon and othe boring topics no way!!! Lol. Like i said @MONKEY POST you will follow Rohr and support his village team he coach next lol.
