Super Eagles interim Technical Adviser Austin Eguavoen has described injured Wilfred Ndidi as a very important player for the national team even as he insisted that his absence will not be greatly felt when Nigeria clash with Ghana on Friday in Kumasi, completesports.com reports
Speaking during a media briefing in Abuja Wednesday, Eguavoen stated that he has a couple of players that can play his position adding that whoever he picks to replace Ndidi will give him what he wants.
“We wish Ndidi speedy recovery. He is an important player for the national team. I know how important he is to us but his absence is not going to change anything. We have a couple of players who can play in that position. The philosophy will not change, style of play will not change, only personnel will change.

“Till that day I am not going to tell you who will play in that position. We have a whole lot to pick from and get what we want. There is so much at stake. Getting the world cup ticket is our target and we hope to get it. We know we have to fight for it because Ghana want it as much as we do. But we must try and get over the line.
“The team know we are privileged to be representing Nigeria and we carry the hope of over 200 million Nigerians. We you are there you have to do everything possible to get result” the former Super Eagles defender stated.
On support for the team, Eguavoen said “we all know that Nigerians are passionate about football and will always support and pray for the Super Eagles even when things are going tough. We need their moral and total support to help us get over the line.
” We know it’s a crucial game and we’ll do everything possible to get over the line and get the world cup ticket. The boys are ready to go and from their two training sessions so far, you see they are sharp and want to do the talking on the pitch not on press Conference alone. On that day, the boys will play and I think you will be very, very impressed.”

I have no doubt coach Egu has been cooking something.. Ghanaians wouldn’t see it coming just like Egypt didn’t see it coming
The narrative of the Ghanaians is Egu is one dimensional and he’ll deploy wing play football again
They’ll have worked on how to neutralize our wingers
Ghanaians will be shocked, tactically we will outclass them…I can bet on coach Egu and Amuneke 100%.
They know how to get matches like this over with
