Eguavoen Reacts To Super Falcons’ 2023 World Cup Qualification

Eguavoen Reacts To Super Falcons’ 2023 World Cup Qualification

Former Super Eagles head coach Austin Eguavoen has congratulated the Super Falcons after they qualified for next year’s FIFA women’s World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.

In Thursday’s quarter-finals in Casablanca, the Falcons edged Cameroon 1-0 to qualify for their ninth World Cup.

Rasheedat Ajibade netted what proved to be the winner after heading in a delightful cross from Ifeoma Onumonu in the 56th minute.

It is Randy Waldrum side’s third consecutive win and also third straight clean sheet at the ongoing tournament after recovering from the 2-1 defeat to South Africa.

And reacting to the win, Eguavoen described it as a difficult game.

“Congratulations to the Super Falcons on qualification for the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup,” Eguavoen wrote on Twitter.

“A resounding victory against the Cameroonians in a tough Quarterfinal encounter. Nigerians celebrate you. Semis next, let’s get it done.”

Up next for the Falcons is a semi-final clash with hosts Morocco on Monday.

Waldrum took a page out of Rohr’s book.
Less emphasis on aesthetics, more emphasis on result.
This is what it means to grind out a result. This is what OUR OWN and the Super Eagles failed woefully to accomplish when it mattered most.

Equavoen should stop making himself relevant, he destroyed our male soccer team , such a headless coach !!

    • Don’t mind NNF, they will still call him back in the nearest future to coach super Eagles and some of us here will support the idea. Nonsense

Mehn…This MAN gat no FOOTBALLING RIGHT and JUSTIFICATION to be COMMENTING on these GIRLS VICTORY..

  • Chima E Samuels 2 years ago

Eguavoen is a Patron to Complete Sports that is why they’re forcing him to be relevant by fire by force on our nose. This tells what we celebrate in a country called Nigeria. It’s funny when I read online these days about Eguavoen this Eguavoen that. Wonders will never end!!!

Complete Sport is a joke. Now I know there are forces in human and organisations that support the destruction of our football and the entire country. Could you believe CS took down the penalty comment I made earlier on? CS is of the other side. They hate genuine victory. God bless Super Falcons.
