The Enugu State Government has expressed its readiness to host the 23rd edition of the National Sports Festival.
The state’s Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Lloyd Ike Ekweremadu declared that they will ensure a seamless experience for athletes and officials.
Ekweremadu also said they will raise the bar set by Ogun State.
“We have carefully understudied the Ogun 2024 Games and are committed to building on its successes,”Ekweremadu told reporters.
“We shall provide a games village and good transportation for participants.”
Ekweremadu also hinted that they will ensure smooth accreditation for journalists, and provide adequate security for all the participants.
“We will work with SWAN executives for the accreditation of journalists that will be reporting the games,” he affirmed.
“Governor Mbah is committed to ensuring the safety of all participants and guests during the festival.”
Beyond sports, Ekweremadu said the festival will also offer an opportunity to showcase Enugu’s rich tourism potential.
“We have many tourist attractions in Enugu—the environment is serene, we have waterfalls and a beautiful cultural history that people can enjoy,” he stated.
