Seven Nigeria Professional Football League, NPFL, sides, Enyimba of Aba, Rivers United, Rangers, Plateau United, Abia Warriors, Niger Tornadoes, and newly promoted Bayelsa United are understood to have confirmed participation in the 4th edition of the Annual Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament billed to hold from September 25 until October 5, 2022, Completesports reports.

This year’s edition, organisers say, will hold simultaneously in two cities, Enugu and Asaba.

A total of 12 clubs, Completesports.com gathered, have confirmed participation in the 2022 edition of Ifeanyi Ekwueme Tico/Select Preseason Tournament.

They include second-tier league sides, Nnewi Utd and Apex Krane FC; Ingas FC Sports Club, Enugu, Excellent FC, and Golden Utd Football Academy.

Ifeanyi Ekwueme, a former Nigeria International and ex Polonia Warsaw of Poland midfielder told Completesports.com Thursday morning that the teams have been logged into two groups.

“Group A games will hold inside the Stephen Keshi Stadium in Asaba and it comprises Rivers United, Abia Warriors, Bayelsa United, Nnewi United, Apex Krane, and Ingas FC Sports Club, Enugu”, Ekwueme said.

“For the Enugu centre, Enyimba, Rangers, Plateau United, Niger Tornadoes, Excellent FC, and Golden United Football Academy, will battle for top honours”.

The preseason tournament is organised by Ekwueme in conjunction with Polish sportswear manufacturing giants, Tico and their Danish counterparts, Select.

The Nigerian is the sales representative of the two international sportswear outfits.
