Super Eagles defender Leon Balogun was left out of the Brighton & Hove Albion matchday squad again and the Graham Potter’s men went on to pip Norwich City 2-0 at the Amex Stadium on Saturday, reports Completesports.com.
Balogun is yet to make a Premier League appearance for the Seagulls this season.
He has however made the bench twice this season.
Leander Trossard and Sean Duffy got the goals for the home team.
At the Villa Park, Liverpool scored two late goals through Andy Robertson and Sadio Mane to secure a hard fought 2-1 away win against Aston Villa.
Champions Manchester City also defeated struggling Southampton 2-1 at home.

Gabon striker Pierre Emerick-Aubameyang put Arsenal in the the lead on 21 minutes, while Raul Jimenez equalised for Wolves 14 minutes from time.
Sheffield United recorded the biggest win of the afternoon, thrashing Burnley at home, while Newcastle United piped West Ham United at the London Stadium.
