Inter Milan Set To Offload Eriksen After Eight Months

Former Tottenham Hotspur midfielder Christian Eriksen appears to be nearing the end of his career with Inter Milan despite only joining them eight months ago.

Eriksen finally secured his desired exit from Spurs at the end of the January transfer window, becoming one of Antonio Conte’s marquee signings at Inter in a £17million deal.

But the former Ajax player has failed to live up to expectations in Italy, starting only eight league matches and also being named on the bench for last month’s Europa League final defeat by Sevilla.

He scored only a single goal in Serie A, and even his creative skills were limited with just two assists recorded between his arrival in Italy and the end of the extended 2019/20 season.

And, as a result, Inter are prepared to cut their losses and sell the Dane after only EIGHT months.

And according to Corriere dello Sport Inter will not let the 28-year-old leave on the cheap, as they are allegedly demanding around £45m (€50m) for him.

Doubts are raised in the aforementioned report over which clubs could afford such a hefty fee, especially right now given the financial implications of coronavirus.

But it is claimed some agents are starting to talk to English clubs over a possible Premier League return for Eriksen.

During his time with Spurs, Eriksen played 305 games and managed an excellent return of 69 goals and 89 assists.
