Etebo To Work With New Coach As Stoke City Sack Rowett

Super Eagles midfielder Oghenekaro Etebo will work with a new manager at Stoke City after the English Championship club parted company with their manager, Gary Rowett Completesports.com report.

Rowett’s exit from Stoke City comes after less than eight months in charge. He won just eight of 26 Championship matches at Stoke before he was sacked.

The former Derby County manager Rowett sanctioned Etebo’s £6.35m (7.2m euros) move from CD Feirense last summer which was his first signing at the Championship club in May.

“Stoke City have terminated the contract of manager Gary Rowett,” Stoke City said in a statement on their official website on Tuesday.

“Members of his immediate coaching staff have also left the bet365 Stadium. The Club would like to thank Gary and his staff for their efforts over the past eight months.

“A new managerial appointment will be made as swiftly as possible but in the meantime, Rory Delap, Kevin Russell and Andy Quy will take charge of first-team affairs.

The 22-year-old Etebo has featured in 16 games for Stoke this season.

Stoke are currently 14th in the English Championship table with 35 points from 26 games eight points off the play-off spots.

The Potters will face Brentford at Griffin Park in their next game on Saturday.
