Enyimba technical adviser Emmanuel Deutsch has expressed confidence in his team’s readiness for their Nigeria Premier Football League, NPFL, Matchday Eight encounter against Katsina United.
The People’s Elephant will travel to the Muhammadu Dikko Stadium on Friday (today) to face Katsina United, hoping to extend their recent positive run of form.
The nine-time Nigerian champions head into the fixture on the back of two wins and a draw in their last three league matches.
Deutsch Focused On The Task Ahead
Despite the team’s improved form, Deutsch has warned his players against complacency, insisting that they must remain focused as the league campaign progresses.
Speaking to the club’s media, the Enyimba tactician stressed the importance of taking each game as it comes.
“We will not be carried away by the results from our past three matches. We will take it one game at a time, as it comes,” Deutsch said.

“We will not be carried away because the league is a marathon. We will see what Friday brings. We are ready for the match tomorrow.”
Enyimba Overcome Difficult Start
Deutsch and his players have shown signs of recovery after enduring a difficult start to the new season, during which they failed to record a win in their opening five league matches.
The gaffer acknowledged the challenges but maintained that remaining professional and focused was essential to turning the team’s fortunes around.
According to Deutsch, players must avoid distractions and concentrate on their responsibilities to achieve positive results.
“Challenges are normal. But if you let the distractions carry you away, that means you’re not a professional,” he said.
“You should leave everything behind and focus on the job. When you focus on your duty, you plan and you see results.”
