Kwara United have been dealt a major selection blow ahead of their Nigeria Premier Football League (NPFL) Matchday 12 fixture against Rangers, with key midfielder Issa Gata ruled out due to injury.
Gata was sidelined after picking up a knock during a training session, forcing him out of the squad traveling for Sunday’s showdown against the Flying Antelopes at the Awka Township Stadium.
The midfielder’s absence comes as a significant setback for the Harmony Boys, who are desperate to get their campaign back on track following a disappointing home defeat to Bendel Insurance last weekend.
With Gata unavailable, Kwara United head coach Ashifat Suleiman will need to reshuffle his engine room and look inward for an effective replacement to navigate the tough away fixture.
The Ilorin-based side currently sit 16th in the NPFL standings, having collected 12 points from their opening 11 matches of the season.
