Europa/Conf. League: Ndidi, Iheanacho Bags Assists, Odey Scores As Leicester Beat Randers To Reach Round Of 16

Wilfred Ndidi and Kelechi Iheanacho provided assists as Leicester defeated Randers 3-1 to qualify for the Europa Conference League round of 16 stage on Thursday.

Leicester advance into the next round 7-2 on aggregate after winning the first leg 4-1 at the King Power.

Also in action for Leicester was Ademola Lookman who, like Ndidi and Iheanacho, played for 90 minutes.

Randers’ consolation goal was scored by former MFM striker Stephen Odey with six minutes left to play.

It was Odey’s first goal for Randers since October 2021 and his 11th in all competitions this season.

Ndidi set up Harvey Barnes for the opener on two minutes with a pass on halfway with the English forward calmly slotting home.

And in the 74th minute Leicester went 3-0 as Iheanacho found James Maddison who hit a 23-yard effort into the back of the net.

And in the Europa League, Zaidu Sanusi helped FC Porto progress into the round of 16 after 2-2 draw at Lazio.

The result means Porto edge Lazio 4-3 on aggregate after securing a 2-1 first leg home win.

Man this insigne is one of the most selfish players i’ve seen in a while

See ball he would have put through for victor to finish he want to score and missed it. Very selfish player

  • This Napoli side is just so frustrating. Is it not obvious that Barca system is all about creating a web to suffocate the defence when they(Napoli) want to play from the back? Is it not obvious that a simple logic is for a player or two, stays behind the web, finding the space behind that web to be the out-ball, thus beating that press, hence forcing them to go backward, as well as a great counter for them(Napoli) from time to time. Defenders are not great ball carriers, but still want to fiddle with the ball from time to time thus turning over the ball to the Barca attack over and over again. Making Barca look like a perfect FIFA 21 team. The coach is also to be blamed. The attack too is so isolated with oshimen left to do it all alone. Elmas has been very useless with his ball handling. The midfield has been overrun Completely. Zielinsky has been a spectator. The whole team has been trash. They are waiting for oshimen to hustle a goal from nothing. I felt so annoyed watching this game. Hoping that the second half will be better. Insigne is just not it. A possession based team like Barca, where the Midfield is playing close to the attack, would have done so much justice to V.Oshimen’s availability. I just tire

  • Guys i what i am seeing right now is what i called selfish football from insigne these guy has really made osimhen look ordinary player and effective in this napoli squad but osimhen keep proving himself if osimhen leaves this club tomorrow i we not be surprised cus they’re not utilizing his talent very well too many selfish players in the squad because right now i am disappointed barca leading them 4:1 it’s a pity for napoli.

  • What are you guys pitting Napoli for?
If not for gattuso’s love for oshime, Napoli is not a club oshime should actually goes to.

Let oshime moves away quickly from the club before they damage is career.

Their style of play is not fascinating.

  • If arsenal are serious and they made it to top 4, VO shd join them asap

What sort of players leave out the main striker and want to shoot everything on the planet down. Napoli and Osigoal is not a pride. Buy has to leave this is disgusting….

I was awestruck watching Calvin Bassey yesterday against Borussia Dortmund. Wow! What a player that boy is becoming! What exactly is Eguaveon waiting for? The boy is in better form than all our full backs put together, including Sanusi, whose passes could be erratic at times. Bassey was a major force in that draw. He provided the first assist and was a menace to BD’s right back all night. In the match yesterday, he started as a centre back, switched to wing back when Balogun came in for Borusic and did excellently well in both positions. We should not forget he’s not cap tied yet. And by the time a premier league club comes for him (great possibility in the summer) and he makes that move, he might begin to fancy his chances with Italy or England. I still don’t know why Rohr didn’t cap him even for a minute or two in any of the two matches against CAR and CV.

  • Guys after yesterday matched btw barca vs napoli i think that osimhen cannot develop himself continuously playing in that club because of the kind of football they’re playing what i called unprofessional football my advice to osimhen is that he should carefully look for another club because his team mate don’t respect his talent.
