Europa League: How Rangers Can Beat Red Star Belgrade- Bassey

Calvin Bassey is convinced Rangers can beat Red Star Belgrade and reach the Europa League quarter-finals if they can recreate their performances against Borussia Dortmund.

Rangers will host the Serbian club in the Round of 16 tie at the Ibrox Stadium on Thursday night (today).

The Gers produced a stunning performance in the previous round knocking out Borussia Dortmund 6-4 on aggregate.

“I think we’ve got a good bunch of boys who are very enthusiastic. Everyone is full of energy and we always want to do well,” Bassey told a press conference ahead of the game.

“So I don’t see why we should look at ourselves as below anyone else. I think if we perform the same way as we did against Dortmund then we have a real chance

“Obviously, we know we are coming up against a strong opponent, a good team. But we’re a good team as well.

“We are just going to go out there and try and give our best. Hopefully we can come away with a good result to take with us to Belgrade.”

Thumbs up brotherman. Bassey is the type of foreign born Nigerian that we want. He was invited once and he came. He will do well for Nigeria. Imagine Aina the great on the right and Bassey the best on the left. Nigeria will d well….. Heaven bless Bassey and all dual nationality Super Eagles players…..Za Za Za Za Za Za……

Yeahmann.. I n I will always thumbs up those that choose to play for Nigeria. To me, It’s not just about playing for yourself but also using your talent to touch the life those struggling; those market women selling their products, those children, widows, men etc feeling deep sense of depression as a result of conditions in Nigeria. You only have see the togetherness/joy amongst these struggling ones every time Nigeria plays n win. THAT IS WHAT MATTERS TO ME AND DEFINITELY NOT HOW YOU ARE THE BEST FOOTBALLER IN THE WORLD; WHICH TO ME IS ONLY FOR YOURSELF. A million times I will choose to play for Nigeria irrespective of what those criminals in office are turning Nigeria into.

  • If not because of aribo, balogun and the other midfielder this guy must still have doubts of playing for Nigeria, and now w that he is performing well he would have regretted Nigeria’s invite.
I just hope he can get some minutes from the qualifying stage
