Europa: Ndidi Nets First Goal In 10 Months, Lookman Bags Assist As Leicester Beat Legia To Go Top

Wilfred Ndidi ended his goal drought as he got on the score sheet in Leicester City’s 3-1 home win against Legia Warsaw, in matchday five of the Europa League Group C fixture on Thursday, Completesports.com reports.

Ndidi last scored for Leicester in January, in a 2-0 home victory over Chelsea.

The Super Eagles star made it 3-1 for Brendan Rodgers men on 33 minutes,  after he rose highest to head home James Maddison’s corner.

Kelechi Iheanacho was brought on with five minutes remaining, while Ademola Lookman got his first assist for Leicester after setting up James Maddison for his side’s second goal.

The win saw Leicester move from bottom to top in Group C standing to eight points, one point ahead Spartak Moscow and Napoli, who are both on seven points.

The Foxes will now face Napoli in their final group game.

And in Scotland, Joe Aribo and Calvin Bassey helped Rangers reach the round of 16, after defeating Sparta Prague 2-0 in Group A.

Bassey featured for 90 minutes while Aribo was replaced in the 81st minute. Leon Balogun was not in action due to injury.

It was new manager Giovanni Van Bronckhorst first game in charge since replacing Steven Gerrard.

An Alfredo Morelos double earned Rangers the important win and a place in the knockout stage.

The win ensured Rangers went out of sight of Brondby ahead of their final game against Group A winners Lyon. Their 2-1 aggregate score over Sparta means the Czech side cannot overturn a three-point deficit.

Nigeria needs a strong goal-keeper. Adeleye is the right one for the Eagle or Salah will score goals like rainfall in Cameroon.

This is the same Bassy that could not be given at least 5mins of play in SE. I think senior man has no business in the SE for now. We saw him playing trash in the SE even in his club nothing. I think someone else like Amoo Akinwumi should take his place. My opinion though

Not just Nacho we need to clean the house, Nacho Iwobi ekong musa shehu Onuachu, Ighalo are not needed for now, they’ve given us their best, they’re best is just not good enough.

Alex Iwobi is a good player. Let us support him in his difficult time. He has been having a difficult time throughout his football. He should go to Barcelona, Real Madrid or Bayern Munich. He is too good for the Premier League.

  • @Elija Samson and all those referring to Kelechi should know if they are fans of the LCFC that Iheanacho has been regularly on the bench this season and has not been given enough playing time. The coach Brandon Rodgers prefer to use English players like James Madison, Harvey barns or the out of foam all time goal scorer vardy. And that’s why the club is not doing well this season and is almost at the bottom but the coach is less worried because he has achieved alot last season, (FA cup and Community shield) and if he leaves, big clubs are begging him to come like Man United. And worst still, they will not allow Iheanacho to leave for better club.

    • No sir, i dont think Rodgers have that mentality of using only English players and the fact that he won two cups last year is never yardstick for dropping whoever found not performing well sir.
the Ghanian guy has always been present for sometime now armatey or what’s his name, when Ndidi came back from injury he has been playing consistently, even new guy from Zambia…
the bothomline is Ihenacho off days is much more than his days on duty…when you expect him to come him and contribute immensely, he’ll just flop. what of lookman?? he’s made his intention know that he’s more of Nigerian than English and he’s ben playing consistently…Nacho has to raise his game and and also have a stable style of play…Kelechi dey play like say hin be NEPA..ON/OFF,

  • THE RIGHTFUL CAPITO OF SUPER EAGLES WILFRED ONYINYE NDIDI!!. YOUR GLASS WILL NEVER RUN DRY DE OIL WEY DEY UR ELBOW TO SHALL NEVER DRY. YOU GO DEY ALWAYS SOAR HIGH UNTIL KINGDOM COME, WHEN THE JUJU WEY DEY ROHR EYE CLEAR. YOU WILL RESUME YOUR ROLE AS THE RIGHTFUL CAPTAIN OF THE SUPER EAGLES OF NIGERIA!!.

  • Lookman is assisting and Scoring Goals, Victor Moses is assisting and scoring Goals, Dennis is assisting and Scoring goals, Awoniyi is a Goal Machine. Meanwhile Nigeria SE is labouring to victories each international fixture of late.. Coach Roar is retaining Bench warmers on the team and leaving out the above mentioned names. And Nigerian fans are scratching their heads wondering what is going wrong, what needs to be done yet most will still srpport the criminal deluded calls Roar is making WOW!!! Just WOW!!!!.. What a shambolic nation I mean the answer is glaringly obvious. Please god intervene this is frustrating!!!

  • Some people are just full of hatred. What has Iheanacho done wrong? Even in his club he has done badly. We all know Rodger has not been a true fans but whenever he came on he always did his best. Must he be scoring or assisting or bailing his club out all the time? He replaced Lookman in their match against Chelsea at half time and he did his best, same Ndidi was very poor in that match though is understandable. Lookman you are shouting has not scored a single goal despite giving more actions that Nacho,I think that was his first assist for the club. Daka too has not been giving enough time like nacho but we all saw what he did together with nacho whenever they combine together. Plz stop the hatred it is not good. This was the same thing some of you are doing to Rohr…

Iheanacho has been really under performing this season after the high of last season.Rodgers didn’t suddenly relegate him to the bench in favour of Daka. The Zambian has earned his place courtesy of his blistering performances.Iheanacho needs to up his game and gets to realize that u re appraised judging by ur performance. No sentiments should be involved.

On a serious note ,the national team is struggling cos of the diminishing returns of the likes of Iwobi, Ekong,Musa, Simon,Iheanacho, over dribbling Ejuke.Victor Moses needs to be recalled even if he needs to be begged. Invitations extended to Emmanuel Dennis , Dessers, Awoniyi,Okereke to battle for strikers shirt with Ighalo and Onuachu in the absence of Osimhen.Lookmans switch should be tidied up ASAP.

Lastly , Nigeria would never become a force to be reckoned with in Football if we don’t harness the potentials in our ex internationals who have taking up coaching as a career. We would continually be wobbling and fumbling on the bench and keep on wasting scarce resources on foreign coaches.Nigeria hardly appreciates it’s depth in football administratively

  • @ ugo and the rest I know we all want eagle to win hence our agitation.

Let us keep using this medium to voice out players that are not performing or underperforming.

Many of them needs to be dropped before AFcon.
