Everton Close To Loan Deal For Tomori

Fikayo Tomori is on the verge of joining Everton from Chelsea on a one-year loan deal.

Tomori has cut his teeth with loan spells at Brighton, Hull City and Derby County in recent seasons and is seen as a valuable addition to bolster Carlo Ancelotti’s options at centre-half.

Rennes were said to be strong suitors to take the Canadian-born centre-half this season but it appears as though Everton have stolen a march in being able to keep him in the Premier League.

Frank Lampard played the young centre half early on last season and he scored memorable first goal for the club from 30-yards in a 5-2 win against Wolves at Molineux.

After being called up to the England squad in October, he made his senior debut for the national side against Kosovo last November.

But following the signing of a new five-year deal a month later, Tomori fell out of favour and after the three-month delay of the season due to the coronavirus pandemic, the 22-year-old did not play a single minute as Lampard’s side finished in the top-four.

He ended up with 22 appearances in all competitions for the Blues last season.

      Spot on @ Oakfield.

I have not been following keenly, but I doubt if he was even included in the Three Lions squad for the nations League. This guy is going to fall out of favour very fast. It’s not my wish, but it seems inevitable.

He has already. That his small head didn’t allow him to think properly before he took the leap… na loan materia (not even material) he don become.. Even Abraham is gradually been frozen out of their team. I don’t know why people fail to learn from history. Is it better to play for a team that you’d only feature a couple of time and then vet thrown out after used like a rag or a team that you stand the chance of getting 100 caps or more whilst having the opportunity to play in most notable competitions like the world cup etc, nations cup, confederations cup etc and building ur cv in the process? Some people’s brains are just for fancy. I bet you, if he we’re playing for Nigeria, a deal better than a loan would’ve been given to him.
