Reports in France suggest Everton are readying a bid for Lyon’s Netherlands international forward Memphis Depay this summer. Having endured a miserable 18-month stint at Manchester United, the 25-year-old moved to Lyon in January 2017 to try and resurrect his career and has blossomed at Groupama Stadium.
The former PSV Eindhoven ace has scored 39 goals from 115 appearances in all competitions while remaining a regular in the Dutch side. It seemed inevitable that some of the bigger European clubs would show an interest to see if has the ability to take that talent to another level.
According to French publication L’Equipe, the Toffees will try to lure him to Goodison Park but will need to fork out around £35m for his signature. It has been suggested that Memphis is not sold on the idea of joining a mid-table English team and so Everton boss Marco Silva may have to use his powers of persuasion to land his man.
